The Boatyard

Boatyards along the river Medina have long since been a feature of Island industry, and remain so even today. One such boatyard sits close to the quay in the centre of Newport. Although quieter now than it would once have been in days gone by, residents of the tiny cottages which still sit along the river have often told of the sound of the heavy trudging of hobnail boots walking the same path on the gravel outside...which has in fact been covered with tarmac for decades.
